Using QR Campaign Reports from pbSmart Codes by Pitney Bowes from Pitney Bowes Small Business on Vimeo.

Once you have launched your QR campaign you can check its performance at any time by logging in to your pbSmartTM Codes account. Here, you can monitor important campaign metrics such as the number of views of your mobile web page, or how many customers provided their email address.

When you open the Reports & Analytics tab you will see a dashboard with a line graph that shows your mobile page views over the last 30 days.

This graph is customizable in several ways.  You can change:

  • The date range. Use the text boxes or click the calendar icons to choose the time period you would like to view, and click the Update button.
  • The metric for analysis. Using the dropdown menu, select either: Mobile Pageviews, Unique Pageviews, or Email Leads.
  • The campaign. By default, the chart will show data for all campaigns. You can use the dropdown box to select a single campaign for viewing.
  • The graph type. The button labeled Change Graph Type will allow you to select from a line chart, a bar chart or a pie chart.

Below the graph is a table that allows you to see at a glance how each campaign is performing. In the table, you will see the campaign name, the campaign type (coupon, event, information), as well as the number of Email Leads, Mobile Pageviews and Unique Pageviews.  If you have created a mobile survey as part of a campaign, you will also see a link to view the mobile survey results.

Mobile Pageviews and Unique Pageviews

These columns show the traffic to the mobile web pages for each campaign. Many marketers wonder what is the difference between a "Mobile Pageview" and a "Unique Pageview". Mobile Pageviews are simply the total number of times that your mobile page was viewed in a given time period. Unique Pageviews attempt to give you a better idea of the number of people who visited your mobile page, by disregarding subsequent visits by the same mobile device in a 24-hour period.  E.g. If a customer visits your page 100 times in one day, this will count as 100 Mobile Pageviews, but will only count as one Unique Pageview.  Unique Pageviews are updated in the system once per day.

Email Leads

The table also displays the number of email leads generated by your campaigns.  Where do these leads come from? When you create a mobile web page for your QR campaign, you have the option of checking a box that will prompt visitors to supply their email address. This powerful feature helps you grow your business by adding qualified leads to your customer list. You can download the list of captured email addresses using the Export Email Leads button, giving you a chance to send follow-up communications with more information or special offers. Note: the export button will only be visible once you have captured at least one email lead in the system.

Mobile Survey Reports

If you are using the Standard or Professional versions of pbSmart Codes, the table will also include links to view the results of any mobile surveys you have conducted.

Studying and analyzing your reports is an important part of running successful QR campaigns: not only do the reports allow you to monitor and adjust today's campaigns, they provide insights that will help you plan more effective campaigns in the future.
